Read MoreStep back in time at The Macquarie Hobart Hotel. Built in 1875, this manor building is rich in history and now comfort. Once the home of a prominent Hobart surgeon and then the headquarters for RACT, The Macquarie Hobart is now a boutique hotel.
Centrally located in Hobart CBD, just a 5-minute walk to Salamanca, the Waterfront and the city centre, it’s the perfect place to base yourself. Limited on-site parking is available (for a fee), a rarity in the city location.
Each of the 15 rooms is unique and individually decorated, many have 4m ceilings and a grand feel. Premium bedding, free wifi, and heating/cooling can also be enjoyed.
Each room has an ensuite bathroom, a mini fridge, equipment for making tea or coffee, an iron and board, towels, linen, free toiletries, hairdryer and complimentary biscuits. It is possible to book cribs and rollaway beds should your needs allow.
A complimentary continental breakfast is served daily in the impressive dining room. Dietary requirements can be catered for when advised ahead of time.

A peaceful stroll along the clear waters of the rivulet will take you past some of Hobarts highlights including the world heritage site "Cascades Female Factory" and the "Cascade Brewery" if you want to walk all the way along it. To get there, enjoy the scenic 30 minute cruise on the Mona Roma fast cats that depart for the nearby Brooke Street Pier.Mount Wellington Magnificent Views back over Hobart, Sullivans Cove and the Derwent. Make sure you have warm clothes. It is usually 10c cooler than Hobart CBD and can snow at any time of the year. There is a Cafe located half way up at "The Springs" for some snacks.Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens is Australia’s cool climate garden, with a number of unique collections including Australia’s only Subantarctic Plant House.
